Outting in Review....

Confession: Alfie and I enjoy to eat out...a lot! This means that there are a lot of unusual places that we have tried that not many people may have thought to try. So on suggestion from Christy I will attempt to write a review on the places we go/ have gone. What better way to start then with our 1 Year anniversary. Unfortunately because alfie and i are terrible when it comes to pictures, i did not take any of our special day i know i know...what a terrible newlywed i am. But anyways, on to the blog...
The ratings will be as such:
a double high five: Awesome... must try ASAP
single high five: Great, gotta try it this year!
two thumbs up: Pretty average
single thumbs up: ehhhhh, go if ya gotta
hand shake: not worth it.

So for our big day alfie and i decided to pamper ourselves with manicures and pedicures. We got these from Max Nails in the webster commons plaza. They had a nice deal of $40 bucks for the combo mani/pedi which was just too much of a pampering to turn down. I'd give them two thumbs up. They wont much different than their competition Lovely Nails right across the street. But their manicure did last exactly one week. Then we were off to a quick brunch in pittsford in Schoen Place at the Village Coal Tower, which is about as close to a diner as Pittford can get. It wasnt bad but it wasnt great. We got in at around 11:30ish hoping for some breakfast and barely made the cut off. On the plus side their omelette (spinach and mushroom) tasted super fresh and you could tell they actually used eggs and not some carton egg imposter. I'm certainly not raving so i will give them a thumbs up: go if ya gotta. I dont think i would request this place again but i wouldnt not go if people wanted to go. Prices were pretty resonable. Now on to the double high fives....

The Spa at the Delmonte: AWESOME! We treated ourselves to the couples massage (a bit pricey but worth every penny). We didnt know but were glad we accidentally got their early. They have amazingly relaxing "locker rooms" they call them that but they should really be called Dens of Euphoria. They had a sauna, a shower with 6 shower heads, a full restroom, a changing area with lockers, slippers and robes, a waiting area with tea, coffee, snacks, water AND they went around with chocolate covered strawberries. It was unreal. They do not rush you to leave, you can take as much time as you'd like before and after the massage. The only down fall is that it is separate mens and womens so Alfie and I could not spend time together before or after but it was nice getting all relaxed BEFORE the super ralxing massage. The massage was definitely worth every stinkin penny. It was nice having alfie in the same room even though we were super quiet and didnt even speak during it. After the massage we took about 20 mins to enjoy the showers and sauna in the locker rooms before dinner.

Ahhhh dinner. We ate at One(aka One Ryan Alley). Delicioso!! We started out with the Sweet Chili Glazed Calamari. It came over a bed of spinach and it was great! Exactly as its name describes it, it is sweet and spicy. For those who love calamari it definitely got a double high five! For the entree I got the grilled angus reserve NY strip steak with crispy onion strings and gingered balsamic reduction. YUM-O! for a side i ordered mashed sweet potato. GAG! it was farrrr to sweet for me and tasted way to close to pumpkin for me (which i loathe). Alfie didnt mind it but we agreed that it was more desserty than dinnerish. Alfie ordered the grilled veal porterhouse with maytag blue cheese stuffed olives red pepper coulis, shaved fennel & orange salad. his was tasty and he raved about it quite a bit. His side was unreal: fire roasted asparagas. It was too stinkin good! Over all i would give the dinner and its trendy atmosphere a double high five! Get there ASAP for some celebration. Prices are a bit steep but super worth it for a nice dinner.
