Baby-versary: A day in the life...

6am: alarm goes off. I hit it and go back to sleep. Snuggle farther into the sheets until...

7am: Oh boy! I now have a few minutes to get myself ready before Colton wakes up and Alfie and I have to rush around to finish getting dressed while doing damage control on a little wanderer who likes to get into EVERYTHING! By now its...

7:30am: and I am tossing a jacket on Colty, grabbing my lunch and making sure I have my glasses and phone before heading to the car to drop Colton off at Abuelita’s.

7:40am: Arrive at 'itas and finally take a few seconds to breathe while mom says good morning to her favorite little man. Miss Lizzy is there too and we all chat and wait for Maddicus to arrive, if she isn’t already there.

7:50am Say my goodbyes to my mister mister and give kisses to him and Madelyn as they hungrily eat their breakfast.

7:51- 8:30am MORNING COMMUTE. Depending on the day and the traffic i take multiple routes to get me out to Rochester Tech Park. Some mornings I jam to secular radio, others I worship to KLOVE or mix cds.

8:30 -4:30pm WORK WORK pinterest WORK WORK facebook WORK WORK; I have the most adorable pictures of Colton at my desk...8 to be exact. It helps the day pass when I can glance to my right and see his little face.

4:40pm: Out the door and headed to the car. I skip lunch and eat at my desk while working, so I can leave those 30 mins earlier. And while i love knowing that when I leave I am heading home, it’s the afternoon commute often feels the longest.

5:15pm: Arrive at Abuelita's and get big smiles from my bubba dukes... and a few growls and smiles from Maddicus! We usually hang around there chatting and playing with the kiddos until about

6pm: which is when we head home to see Daddy! Its pretty sad that someone who carried Colton for 9 months and lived with her face in the toilet for the first 5 doesn’t get even close to the smile that Alfie gets from Colton. I usually make dinner while Colton and Alfie watch tv play. And then sit down to eat by

6:30pm: NOM NOM NOM

7pm: A bit more playing, some book reading, lots of hugs and kisses, and again more playing. Until we start the bed time routine at

7:30 if it is a bath night or

7:45 if no bath. We grab Colty’s pacifier and lovie snuggle blanket and a bottle and cuddle on the couch as he finishes his snack, gets tired and get lots of kisses! Then its off to bed by

8pm: and onto cleaning up for momma! Dishes get done, toys get picked up, and laundry gets folded. Crafts get worked on, shows DVR'd from a prior day get watched and pending parties get planned and organized. And any home projects get worked on too. A little bit of facebooking and a little bit of pinning happens also. And then finally by

10 (or 11pm these days) I head off to bed, to do it all again in a few hours! :)

Nothing special, just a day in the life of us :)

Just another day at the Office...

So it’s one thing to chose the person to see every day, but it’s another thing to pretty much get stuck with someone every day. Such is the difference between being married and going to work. Being married, I CHOSE to life my life out for better or worse with Alfie going to work I don't really get a say who I spend my 40+ hours with, which means it can lead to some fun times (if your coworkers are rad) or some dreadful times (if your peeps are sucky). For me I have a bit of both id say about 80/20 for the fun/sucky ratio, there may or may not be a fly in the fun ointment at work. Same person that I yikes, got in trouble.

BUT regardless of if I enjoy or don't enjoy my direct coworkers, I share a building with other people that I DO NOT work with but still share an area with. Which can be cause for crappiness....So this little story happened a bit ago. Alfie and I had ordered pizza one night and with the delicious leftovers I wrapped them up and took them to work the following day. Now normally I toss my lunch into a Wegmans bag to put in the fridge at work, but on that day I just had the 2 slices in a Ziploc. I got to work and placed my pieces (they were fresh looking pepperoni and mushroom slices...my favorite) on the middle rack with a small thing of carrots I had also brought in a Ziploc beside it. Noon came and went as did 1pm (which is when the cafeteria closes) and I finally wandered over to grab my lunch. I opened the door and didn’t readily see my slices. Hmmm no biggie, it probably got shuffled around as people took their lunches out. So I hunkered down to search for it. I found my carrots tossed to the side but no pizza. after 5 mins of frantically looking, I came to the conclusion that some jerk ate my lunch. COME ON! I was soooo looking forward to it. Then to make matters worse on the top shelf were these 2 ratty looking freezer burned slices that I can only imagine the Pizza thief left me, which of course I did not eat, cause that would be just nasty. But it made me think... who does that? Just because it’s in the communal fridge does not make it open to all. Oh and this is just the beginning. There are the people who like to bring NASTY smelling food for lunch and turn the entire building into a stink bomb in the form of "lets re-heat last night’s fish dinner today at work" and you pretty much pray that you don't leave work reeking of fish. I’m sorry but last time I checked, I didn't okay you to rape my nostrils with your awful smelling food. Thanks a lot.

What kind of people are in your office? Do any of these folks sound familiar....?

Mr. Social - We ALL know him. He is the guy who knows everyone, busts everyone’s balls, has ALL the good gossip and can't keep a secret to save their life. They spend a good chunk of their morning hopping from cubicle to cubicle, finding out what the good word is and what’s new. They are ALWAYS up for a good time via happy hour or lunch out and even better, they are usually the one with the creepy "I think I am hot stuff" Facebook profile.

Ms. Sour Puss- Yeah she is the Debbie Downer of the group. The one who nothing is ever quite good enough. "What there are free cookies and cake two cubes down??" "Oh well I am diabetic, I can't eat that" WAAA. WAA She is the one who usually takes a fun afternoon and turns it into a rainy blah day. And you try very hard to avoid so she doesn't poo all over your pleasant day.

Mr. You can't frazzle Me - he is the guy that nothing EVER gets too. "What there is a HUGE deadline tomorrow 9am??" "Yeah yeah ill get to it, no worries, i'll come in at 8 and pound that out." He is usually the one to cut corners and just get by. I’m guessing he was the stoner in high school and college. Ever the laid back guy.

Mr. Corporate Intern - They are the youngsters you kind of wanna punch in the face, cause they come in and throw around lame corporate phrases like synergy and diversification and have no idea what they are talking about but walk around with the biggest chip on their shoulder like they are the shizz. They wanna climb the corporate ladder and get to the top floor with the corner office, and is way way obnoxious.

Miss Corporate Intern - Not the friendliest of office folk. She is usually dressed like a skankasaurous and reallllly doesn’t do much around the office other than look cute and get hit on by dirty old men (but primarily by Mr. Social). Also known as Ms Giggles, since she pretty much laughs at anything as she flirtatiously touches the jokesters arm.

Mr. Jesus Freak - Usually some sort of religious base that is VERY vocal about judging people and telling them how their life is wrong and how they are going to hell. Pretty much gives any sort of a Christian a bad name and people generally avoid for fear of long winded awkward conversation about salvation. (So sad, that how the office Christian is usually seen)

Mrs. I love my 10 Cats - She is the weird lady. ya know the one who brings the same meal to lunch every day and put pictures up in her cubicle of her kittens and bunnies. She talks about Mr. Whiskers like he is her son and her evening usually revolves around Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Smells heavily of some musky perfume, rocks killer orthopedic sneakers or the ever awful popular Crocs. Usually a slow stroller that you DON'T want to be caught behind if you are rushing to get to the ladies room.

Ms. Menopausal - Gotta love her. You can easily find her by the tell tale fan at her cubicle desk pointed right at her while she wears sleeveless and fans herself (while everyone else is in sweaters). She is often the Man Hater, burned once in her past by some ex-husband and is great at shootin the breeze and bustin balls with Mr. Social. Has a great raspy smokers laugh and enjoys a good strong scotch the end of the day.

LOL And for those who wonder, yes, most of those are based on real people, and No I do not fall into ANY of those categories :P ...Do you??

MMM MMM Giiiirl You too old!

A friend of mine let’s call her Shaniqua (LOL - ya like that? person-whose-name-isn't-really-Shaniqua?) shared this story with me...

Shaniqua was at a WORK party (Luau themed) and a co-worker, let’s call her Croc-y (you'll understand why, later) showed up at the party. Shaniqua said Croc-y was dressed in the luau theme but missing 1 MAJOR necessary article of clothing. Any guesses?? No? It was: a bra. That’s right A. BRA. Really NO BRA?!?!?!?!?! to a work event?!?!?! Risky! or should I say risqué...lol. Who does that?! In addition to the coral bra-less deep v sundress outfit thingy, Croc-y was ALSO rockin' (Haha Crocodile rock...) coral crocs!! CORAL CROCS! I didn't even know they made those, which probably means they shouldn't have made them. But Shaniqua confirmed that yes they do, and yes homegirl did! Tisk tisk (I am anti crocs anyways, but that’s me). Apparently Croc-y is known around the office for wearing her Crocs in every color! Who does that?! I guess now she can be known for something else....Ms. I-didn't-wear-a-bra-to-a-work-event. I get if you have tick tacs/mosquito bites that going without a lady lump-holder is probably fine and unnoticeable but anything bigger than that MOST DEFINITELY needs a support system. And anyone over the age of puberty shoulllllld sport some kind of tata holder. But I’m sure some people of the breastfully unblessed camp would say that’s untrue and i guess they would probably know more about that than this Mountain-liscious momma.

But anyways, this little story made me think...What is age appropriate? Is letting the gals hang free age appropriate? Can grammie go free just as much as some 15 year old? Or maybe in this instance its size related! How long can one shop in the "juniors" department? Can any age wear the "current trends" both in hair and clothing? Just like Simon from American Idol ALWAYS complained when young contestants sang old people songs, so do I complain when old people wear young people clothes and vice versa. So to help you determine if "mmm mmm Giiiirl You too OLD", here are myy top 5 rules….

You know you too old when:
- The trend you wore once makes its way back again. Ex those of us who rocked side ponytails in the 80's, scrunchies, fanny packs (sweet Lord, I actually saw Target trying to sell "cute" versions. It’s a lie, there is NO cute way to wear a freakin fanny pack!!) STAY AWAY from them now!
- You try an outfit on and make sure it doesn’t give you camel toe. The fact alone that you A. know what camel toe is and B. you check for it, means you are too old to wear that outfit (cause it probably will give you C.T.)
- If you have no idea who Snookie is and where she is from, you have no biznass wearing her beloved poof.
- You think crocs are an acceptable form of shoe, it’s not. Its sooo not. (Unless you are in the medical field or a small child...lol...again my opinion, I hate them)
- And finally, if you read these and ACTUALLY thought to abide by them, you are too old, because young people could care less what anyone says :)

Happy Tuesday!

About me :)

Its been a while. I know. Im slacking. I do have a TON to write about although a lot of it is too deep to share on a blog, so poo to that. Buuut anyways, I have been busy... crafting and pinning and updating the homestead. But i will try to be the blogger i like to read (ie one who posts) and post far more often.

Confession: I am mildly addicted to Microsoft Excel.

Ok, more like crazily addicted, but really who's keeping track? I pretty much use it all day everyday at work, so therefore anytime i need anything, a list, an invitation, a program, a functional calculating spreadsheet I make it in Excel. A weightloss tracking sheet? Sure! What about a WW points calculator? No doubt! How about a baby registry input sheet? Ofcourse. Maybe even a fully functional bridal sheet calulating anything from budget to actual expenditures and even a cost comparison of favor ideas. You betcha (because you know i totally have one!)! My good friends make fun of me for my spreadsheet love, but they most certainly come in handy. Seeing as i use this bad mamba-jamba of awesomeness everyday ALL day, i am quite the fan of it and can manuever myself around it with ease. My current favorite is my Wedding File. I used it to maintain my wedding budget and all related ideas. It is fully functional with a tab for each area and ended up being a "Pinterest Board" before there was pinterest. Crazy i know BUT it helped me come in a few thousand under budget AND helped be get my greatly desired wedding seat covers . I am more than happy to share with ANY who need it :)

Anyone else have a crazy addiction?

On a side note (which maybe explains a bit of WHYY i have a wonderful relationship with Excel), i find NO ONE ever knows what i do. At times its nice to fly under the radar of random financial/business related questions, because believe it or not people think i became a teacher. But no i did not. teaching was most definitely NOT for me. I remember taking an entry level teaching class and thinkin "Oh heck no, i do not want to do this" so all you teachers out there, props for doing what you do, because i most certainly could not do your job. Having said that, what do i doooo? Well i am a cost analyst, which is similar to a financial analyst, but not to be confused with the financial analysts who deal with stock, bonds, nor those who do financial advising and not to be confused with accountants. Well gee what are there if not those? somewhere in between are these select few wonderkinds who maintain those GINORMOUS budgets for all those programs or projects to do what they gotta do, or build what they have to build. Enter me, little old me. That is what i do. In simple terms. I forecast headcounts and dollar amounts, build spreadsheets and report actuals, approve purchases and track spending. So for example, if the project were "Building a house" i would compile the estimates from all the subcontractors into a central project budget and then essentially approve purchases for materials and then track the actuals spent to build the house (for each subcontractor) so that we did not go over budget. Ofcourse that is just the general snipet of my job, its not anywhere NEAR a full description, but rather a very broad overview. So now you know why oh WHY i do just about everything in excel and know just another snipet about me :)

So there, happy monday.

Friday....

Apologies for the momentary blogging hiatis... computer problems with letting me sign in. Something with those dang cookies...

Okay, anyways.

Its friday, finally. And to make things even better it is a long weekend. BONUS. To make things debbie downer, work had layoffs this week (boo hiss) but i made it (yay yay) but it makes for a LONNNG day and somber day after. Sorta feels like survivor around here with all the "did so and so make it?" I feel like there should be some tribal music and Hot Jeff Something (whatever the host's name is) should pop out and say, "you did not recieve a rose" , "you are the weeakest link", "you're fired", "America did not vote for you to move on" "the tribe has spoken" and put out peoples torches. That might just make the layoff process a tad better. Although i can understand for safety reasons, why a torch may NOT be a best practice for this kind of event....

MEMORY!!! They are playing "Evan and Jaron's: Crazy for this Girl. Wow, old song. takes me back to highschool. Riding in a "friends" car and getting lost on the way to Eastview mall, and ending up somewhere near Honeyoye Falls...not sure if he planned it, but it was fun. Good song. Extra blogger points if you have a guess on which friend that was. Seeing as i really only had a handful of guys i hung out with, the answer should be simple. In hindsight, im pretty sure i had a slight crush on said guy. Oh Highschool.... i crushed on pretty much any guy that i knew...almost...ok not really only maybe 2 or 3....

Oh here is a confession: I have an issue with people eating when i am not.

This DRIVES ME CRAZY! especially if i can hear you chew/swollow/munch, i get annoyed, and itchy and want to rip the food away from you. I NEED some sort of noise to drown out the sound. I have said many a time to alfie "ya almost done with that???" cause it will seriously annoy the heck out of me! Don't get me started on hearing you breathe, especially if you have one of those whistles going on in your nose....KILLS ME! I hear it once and literally fixate on the sound until that is all i hear and all i focus on and i most likely have to remove myself from the situation, so i can't hear it anymore. I have an odd thing with repetative noises. If it is repatative enough, i will start counting the noise. Which is obnoxious because i could count for a good while, but i force myself to stop, although to do that it needs to be on an even number. Something about them even numbers makes me feel good. Must be why i enjoy numbers, hence the Math Major. Im odd i know. And this was a bizarre post but there ya go for a friday tidbit about me! enjoy, and try not to drive me crazy now that you know this!!!

Alrighty, have a few cocktails for me over this long weekend!
Enjoy!

Its my blog, I'll complain if I want to....

Confession: Im in a funk today...

Boo, i know. I tried 3 times between today and yesterday to write a successful blog but no such luck. So todays will be lame...sorry. Maybe its the rain, or the lack of sunshine, or the fact that i havent had a chance to blow dry my hair...(probably the blow dry, it makes me cranky)! Whatever it is is pretty bumming. The fat free icing to the low fat cake is the fact that i am dieting and STARVING! I want real chicken wings. I want a real burger. I want lasagna and cheese, pizza, bread sticks, loaded fries and potato skins! But i have 2 i repeat 2 weddings this summer and am dead set on dropping enough weight to look like a skeleton walking down the aisle. And yes, in my mind a skeleton is dead sexy... (haha good one) Okay, new topic...

We are steps away from finishing the kitchen table!! Its looks soooo linda...as in que linda! Its the same white as the trim and doors in the kitchen and the seat covers have this adorable floral print pattern that highlights the gray in the walls. I can't wait to be finished with it, so we can start tiling the backsplash or painting the cabinets! :) The kitchen is going to look so pretty....feel free to be jealous...i wont hate you. After the kitchen its the half bath or maybe the fireplace room...decisions decisions!

So I am getting the "not enough time" blues. Working Mommas chime in.... how do you do it? I will gladly take suggestions, advice anything! How do you put in a 40+hour week and then go home and be the house wife, momma AND maintain your sanity? Obviously people do it, but HOW?!? I just feel like I can never get the things done that NEED to be done, like dishes, or cleaning or laundry or workout or shower.... not to mention the room full of unpacked items that have sat there since the move. man if only i had put in how may times i just sat here and sighed.... its the rain, im blaming this post on the rain.... :/

I know, but its just easier this way...

Confession: Colton sleeps in our bed.

yes i know. I am breaking the rule listed in every Mommies 101 text book. But i dont care. Its works. I get sleep. And isnt that like the second most important thing these days?? the instant he wimpers because his pacifer fell out, all i have to do is roll over and pop it back in. I dont even have to open my eyes. Far cry from climbing out of bed, stumbling down the hall, searching in his crib and popping the paci back in then trying to slip back out the creaky door without really waking Colton up. Plus any parent who has had a stuffy baby knows that they choke occasionally on their mucus. And the sound of a choking baby from a room down the hall is the scariest sound on earth. Now i will admit that I don't sleep AS well with him in the bed, but i do sleep better than if he is in his crib. And while i don't get Alfie in bed with me (we trade off on who sleeps in the spare room and who gets C.) i get to wake up to a tiny grabby hand on my face and sometimes a drooly mouth slobbering on my nose but best yet is this adorable face right by my face, smiling and cooing. I love it!

My only wish is for a slighhhhtly larger bed so alfie could join too. I know, i know i know... "its gonna be hard to break him of this", "what about your marriage bed", "thats so weird" Yes, i get it, i know the cons of maintaining these sleeping arrangements BUT when he is fussy to fall asleep and you FINALLY get him down, and you have been laying in your bed so that you dont have to keep pacing his nursery and can actually take a few minutes off your feet, setting him down and laying beside him is a wonderful relief from the long day. PLUS when the alarm goes off at 5am (no joke it is set at 5am) and you need to get going and get ready, its easier to have him right there and try to keep him asleep so you dont have to feed or change him until you are done getting dressed, its worlds easier! As you can tell i am ALL about easy these days. Which is why today I look like a frumpy mother... Hair slicked back into my lazy pony tail because i chose to watch DWTS last night instead of blow drying my hair (the small joys) and then made my health conscious lunch (boo hiss) and did an EXTRA 15 minutes of zumba after my hour long class (yeah i know i had some crazy energy) so although i had a relaxing evening (C went with alf to his parents house, where he was super fussy...poor thing) i should have done my hair, but the luxery of a quiet night on the couch, is few and far between and you KNOW girl had to jump at that chance!! And im sure i will be cursing out this decision eventually (like when we attempt to put him back to his bed) but for now i will eat up the nights of snuggles and the slight scratches from his wolverine claws that hit my face in the middle of the night, and the way he eventually scoots my way until he is laying right beside me (i love it and melt every night). i will worry about putting him in his bed later. I can't promise that I wont complain about how hard that is, but go ahead, you can say "I TOLD YOU SO" when the time comes and rub it in.

NA NA Na BOO BOO...

Confession: I got my co-worker in trouble.

First off, yes this is part of the friday tri-fecta. I was in a writting mood. So humor me ok?!

Ok, lets start from the beginning. There is the lady, we shall call her Sandy. Sandy was brought in from lets say NYC to help as a cost analyst on a very similar program to mine. So there are now 3 analyst spread across 2 programs I am on Project A, she is on Project B and our 3rd analyst lets call him Boris, splits half time between. Well Sandy is a bit high strung and anal about how things are done (thats the NYC way) and everyone else is very very laid back. Our business managaer on the project, lets call him Bernie, had worked with Sandy in NYC on another program and knew she was a very hard worker, so requested her to come be part of the team up here (BIG mistake. i think daily he is regretting that mistake) but anyways so there have been quite a few personality conflicts with Sandy and the rest of the team and I had been flying safely under her nasty radar. Until "the event". So Bernie had asked me to figure out a way to better track the people charging the project and flag new chargers. It took me a few tries but I was able to work with my best buddy MS Excel and come up with a snazzy template to do this. (Bernie's cubicle is right next to Sandys) So after i showed Bernie, he said "Great, show Sandy, so she can implement it on this project" okay no biggie. So i turned to her cubicle, as Bernie got up and headed away from his desk, and said "Hey Sandy, i got more work for ya. haha" jokingly. With her head down and furioously typing over the keyboard she does not acknowledge my presence, nor does she tell me she was busy and to come back. Instead she lifts her hand and puts it up like a "stop" and then does it again. Obviously i knew that meant to leave her alone, and i pissedly (not a word) said "uhhh ok" and walked away.I sat at my desk thinking of all the things i should have said and if smacking a biotch would get me fired. I didnt mention anything to anyone that day and i sat fuming for a good hour at my desk. Then finally the following week at our team lunch, which Sandy thankfully did not attend. I brought up what she did and Bernie was appauled. I thought it ended there. NOPE. That friday, someone else mentioned that Bernie had said something to them about it. And they were pissed that Sandy would treat me this way. Well Bernie came up to me and said that my supervisor is aware of what she did and then someone (either Bernie or her supervisor) mentioned it to her. And low and behold, Sandy just swooped on by to apologize. I graciously thanked her for apologizing and then changed the subject, cause i had been over it an hour (ok a week) after it happened. It was not my intention to get her introuble with her supervisor, but at the same time, who treats someone so rudely? Atleast have the common curtisy to turn to me and say "im sorry i am swamped right now, can you show me later?" I get being busy! But i do not get how people can be that rude. Sadly for her thats one more strike against her in the eyes of the entire team... especially when you mess with this lil Lamb (me).

Im Back....again :)

So after 8 months of being unemployed i finally get a gigg at company X as a temp. Yeah a temp. thats ok because A. there doesnt seem to be as much pressure because i will leave eventually and B. whats the worst thing that happens? i get let go? been there done that! so far it hasnt been bad, the work hasnt been hard to understand and i feel like i can ask questions if need be without feeling dumb. Everyone here is fairly young and new to this group so again i feel like they know what its like to be the new person. Its still hard to get back into the workforce after being gone so long. i mean it was almost a year! But i will say it was bittersweet. God worked on me so much. Kodak was my arrogance. Unemployment was my humility. God stripped me of all that i had put my comfort in. My job, my money, my status. He removed it and showed me how to lean on him for life. He provided every month and then some. He allowed for a great anniversary, a few parties and a trip to florida. He is so good! Through out the time God gave me a song to cling to. It became my anthem. The astricked lines are my favorite parts:

Blessed Be Your Name

Blessed Be Your Name
In the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed Be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed Be Your name

***Every blessing You pour out
***I'll turn back to praise
***When the darkness closes in, Lord
***Still I will say

***Blessed be the name of the Lord
***Blessed be Your name
***Blessed be the name of the Lord
***Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me
When the world's 'all as it should be'
Blessed be Your name

***Blessed be Your name
***On the road marked with suffering
***Though there's pain in the offering
***Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out
I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord
Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

***You give and take away
***You give and take away
***My heart will choose to say
***Lord, blessed be Your name

I just love that song. It lays out life so perfectly! Its never going to be easy but through it all I will CHOOSE to praise His name! I will choose to praise the One who has gone before, the One who has my life in HIS hands. Thank you Lord!

Mr. Ba-donk-a-donk

Question: What determines a date? is it the quantity of people on an outing? is it the intent on secluded time? must both parties determine an outting is a date for it to actually be one? I ask because of a situation (for lack of a better word) that occured a few years ago....

I was interning at Yodak (names have been changed to protect identities...lol) and had a really nice boss: Mr. Ba-donk-a-donk. We got along fine, he was a tad awkward and nerdy but whatever, he did his job and helped me with mine. Wellll Mr. Ba-donk-a-donk, had a sweeeeet BMW convertable and all who know me know I LOVE convertables. Ba-donk-a-donk was also a widower with 3 boys, thus making him single and "ready to mingle". All who have worked at Yodak know that the average age of employees is 45+ and here i am a swaggering 24 year old with giant ta-tas. Anyways, Ba-donk-a-donk thought it would be nice to take me to lunch as a new hire. No biggie, we walked across the street to a restaurant and had lunch. Ok, no prob right? Well halfway through the summer Ba-donk-adonk, myself and a secretary went to a burger place then down to Abbotts by Charlotte and got ice cream to go, we took Ba-donk-a-donks mini van. Again, no biggie. Well then at the end of summer as a goodbye lunch, Ba-donk-a-donk took me out to lunch (no worries since we had gone before). This time he had driven his two person BMW convertable to work so we could take that on our lunch to the Schallers by Charlotte and after a burger and shared fries (yes i know we shared), he suggested ice cream. So we drive down towards the pier and he is showing me the GPS in his car and how snazzy and great the car is. Whatever... So we grab our ice cream and HEEEEEE suggests a walk down the peir while we eat our dessert. Again no biggie to me. So we finally get back to the office and i go home and I share this outting with Christy and she is like "Ummm that was a date!" lol noooo it was NOT a date... even years later, I did not think it qualifies as a date but every time i mention this such outtting Christy brings up how date-like it is, and i guess it could be seen as a date but then again, if a date is only one sided is it truly a date or merely an older man getting jollies out of being seen with a young hot stuff OR was he just being friendly? Would your answer change if i mentioned he tried to kiss me? LOL just kiddding. I added that for dramatic affect. There was NO contact or attempt at contact. Just what i saw was an innocent lunch and ice cream or was it in his eyes a lunch date? I guess i'll never know.

Confessions of the unemployed...

So its been a little over a month since my last post and needless to say there hasnt been much to write about. Confession: staying home with no children is boring. There isnt much to do at home while all your friends are at work like normal people and Im stuck at home like a loser. I try not to be bitter and attempt to stay optimistic, but honestly its tough. I am bored. I get lonely during the day and to think it has only been a month. I already have a schedule: wake up, clean dishes from the night before, catch The View at 11, workout if Zumba isnt that night, eat lunch , watch a movie while cleaning or doing laundry, hop online, then catch either Oprah or Ellen at 4 and then start dinner. Yes, i generally do the same thing everyday. I try not to go to the "Plaza" in webster because i dont want to spend a lot in retail therapy, but I do plan on going to the library this week and them maybe going to Barnes and Nobles to sit and read magazines and have a coffee. Just some random stuff to do during the week so that it goes by quickly. I also (starting today) have started back in weightwatchers (kinda). I am not technically joining but i am going to try counting points and such to help me shed the pounds i have gained since the wedding and the changed birthcontrol (i think that was the reason for the weightgain).

Well, this certainly was a boring post to write, maybe the more i write, the better it will be :)

Yes, I am unemployed.

Confession: i got layed off. Yeah talk about hittin ya with a good confession. That makes up for all the crappy blogs i wrote the past few times. I found out hmmm almost 1hr and 45 mins ago. So i thought best to document this while its fresh. I wondered what its like to lose your job. It sucks. the instability the unknown future. Now i am not sad per say about working at Kodak. If i am honest, i am more than ready to go. And as i told mom, God is so faithful. I was ready to leave Kodak but He knows me so well, I wouldnt have left on my own. It would have taken hmmm a layoff ;) to move me into something new. He knows what i need and i fully am ready for a different company a more energetic company, a company with young people!! lol. So what did it feel like? Shock. I went into my bosses office before going to my desk because i had been out sick yesterday and wasnt sure how he was going to notify people so i went there first. Thank God. I couldnt have imagined having to go to my desk after that. But my boss made small talk and then i saw him reach for the manilla envelope and i knew. He was very kind and made a point of letting me know it was NOT a reflection of my work, but only of the fact that i had such few years here compared to the seniority that everone else had. I think we all knew, it was only a matter of time. And then came the tears. You just can't help it.I just kept thinking of being employeed and working for a full year and few months and now im gone. I interned, I suffered through the crap projects, i hung out and made friends. I can't help but think, "i wonder what they are thinking?" "How bad do they feel?" I know my boss felt bad, i thought he was gonna cry when i started crying. But i am optimistic (or atleast keep forcing myself to feel that way) about geting something new. I have my resume all set up and am ready to leave that stupid Kodak (:P) before they go bottoms up, which i am sure they will. So for those who read this, there are a few things i ask of you... 1. Prayer: for me, for me and alfie, for my job hunt. and 2. to keep your eyes and ears open for job possibilities. I am in Finance so anything related works for me :) Thanks guys. I am ok, and i am sure i will continue to be that way, it just currently sucks :P

Hi! Wanna be friends?!

Confession: X (the company I work for) is full of old people. Now don't get me wrong, old people are nice if you want sympathy or to be taken care of but when you want friends.... old people just don't cut it all the time. So in my quest to find people MY age, I have found 3: The cleaner who picks up my trash... nice guy to shoot the breeze with in the morning. Then there is the other cleaning girl but she is really quiet and then there is the New Girl!! I have seen her in the hall a few times and initially thought she was a cleaner but then noticed she never had the tell tale garbage or mopp with her. Hmmm what does she doooo? Well today in my inbox i had a meeting update adding someone new to a bi-monthly meeting. At the bottom it said "Sally Kay" added to meeting notice (name changed to protect identity). So nosey me looked her up in the directory and YAY! its the young girl!!! (by young i mean my age!) Now tell me how sad it is that that is clearly the highlight off my day? I plan to make her a friend. it really is no fun spending 40hrs a week with your parents. Some I will admit are cool and you can totally hang with but others are just soooo blah. i find it problematic if they have children my age. It makes me feel like loser plus its just way hard to relate. Especially when its the "what did you do over the weekend?" conversation. They respond with "well i drove lil bobby to basketball then picked up suzy from college for the weekend" and your weekend was "hung out with friends at a party, went to a bar, etc." but PTL I have found a friend!! lol yes that sounds so loser ish, but seriously.....SERIOUSLY. So my goal is to make her a buddy. Is that stalkerish? it feels like it!

Confession: X gave me free tickets! yes thats right I won free tickets to the nutcracker! YAAY. I have only been waiting to see this since I took dance in 4th grade. Evvvvvery year mom said she would take me and EVvvvvvery year she never did. Well anyways i saw the drawing for the tickets and put my name in the bin 4 times in an effort to snag the convetted prize. I guess persistance pays off! So alfie and I and another lovely couple are going and doing it up! We are going to a nice dinner at Black and Blue and dressing up. I already know what I am going to wear! Alfie just got me this black very Jackie O looking dress (i was there he just insisted I get it and paid for it) it was only $15 but it has white around the collar and the two pockets. Anyways that should be a very fun time!
